Ketogenic Therapy Assessment

The Ketogenic Therapy Assessment one entry point for accessing ketogenic therapy through MH². This comprehensive evaluation determines whether ketogenic therapy is appropriate, safe, and likely to be beneficial based on your medical history, psychiatric symptoms, current treatments, and metabolic health.

Rather than assuming ketogenic therapy is the right approach for everyone, our interdisciplinary team carefully evaluates each person to ensure recommendations are evidence-informed and individualized.

What to Expect During Your Assessment

  • Pre-assessment questionnaires
  • 60-minute intake with a psychiatrist or nurse practitioner
  • 60-minute intake with a ketogenic therapy dietitian
  • Laboratory testing with ketogenic-specific biomarkers — CMP, CBC, lipid panel, insulin, HbA1c, and keto panel (carnitine, zinc, copper, selenium)
  • Vitals — height, weight, and blood pressure
  • Body composition and bone density (DXA) scan

Your Personalized Report

Following your assessment, our psychiatrist/NP and dietitian review findings together and prepare a report of findings and treatment recommendations, including:

  • Clinical summary
  • Determination of appropriateness for ketogenic therapy
  • Preparation steps and MH² appointment recommendations

Our goal is to ensure every patient begins with a clear understanding of whether ketogenic therapy is the right path — and, if so, how to move forward safely and effectively.
